An El Paso state representative accused of driving while intoxicated last month faces a Class A misdemeanor after final test results showed her blood alcohol level was about twice the legal limit. On March 14, Rep. Naomi Gonzalez, D-El Paso, crashed the BMW she was driving into another car that then struck a bicyclist on Congress Avenue near Barton Springs Road shortly before 2 a.m., according to an arrest affidavit.

Gonzalez, 34, had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 percent or more at the time the analysis was performed, according to court documents. That means the Class B misdemeanor she was charged with last month could be enhanced to a Class A misdemeanor.
