The Austin City Manager is almost ready to hire the City's new Chief Sustainability Officer - but he wants you to meet the candidates first.  Almost 200 hundred people applied for the newly created position...and three are now left in the process. The City's Doug Matthews says the executive level officer would oversee the city's environmental and conservation programs.
The candidates will be available today at 2-30 and then at 5 o'clock to answer your questions at Town Lake Center on Barton Spring Road. A salary has not yet been determined.
