Bomb hoax prompts questions about UT-Austin's warnings

A bomb threat that prompted University of Texas officials to order all campus buildings evacuated for part of Friday morning has raised questions about whether the university should have been quicker and more explicit in warnings it issued to students and employees.   The threat by a caller claiming to be with al-Qaida and to have placed bombs all over campus turned out to be a hoax. The FBI is leading an investigation into the matter because telephoned threats of terrorism fall under its jurisdiction.  "We want the public to know we take this very seriously," said Eric Vasys, a spokesman and special agent for the FBI. "We are very interested in identifying, locating and arresting the person or persons on the other end of the phone line when they pull a stunt like this."
