Those pulling for city props are generally pleased with election outcome

Mayor Lee Leffingwell says he's pleased for the success of most of the propositions the city put before voters during yesterday's election. Mayor Lee Leffingwell says he thinks the size of the package for Proposition four may have scared some voters away - which he says may be why it was the only prop that failed, "It was a 78 million dollar proposition which was a lot more than it was in the 2006 set of bond proposals when it was 55 million dollars.  And I think that the size of that number may have intimidated some folks."

Leffingwell says Austin's tax rate is still the lowest of the major cities including Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio by far.
