A Travis County jury on Monday sentenced a former Pflugerville high school band director to two years in prison for sexual assault of a child and 10 years of community supervision for indecency with the then-15 year-old student.  Andrew Polk, who had worked at Hendrickson High School, was convicted late Friday on the charges after a weeklong trial and more than nine hours of deliberation. He faced up to 20 years in prison.   Polk will have to serve the full two-year prison term, and the sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will have community supervision for eight years following his release.  At the sentencing hearing Monday morning, the victim’s mother testified that the girl became angry and withdrawn after the December 2010 incident, and that the onetime A student’s grades fell. She also said other students at the school hurled accusations at her, saying, “You did this. It’s your fault. You’ve ruined our band program.”
