Students missing school cost Central Texas School districts millions, but attention being brought to the issue appears to be working.
In fact, at Stony Point High School in Round Rock, their leading the region in an effort to get students to attend school. E-3 Alliance launched a campaign last month called "Missing School Matter's and the group's Rick L'amie says they're proud of what Round Rock has accomplished, "Due to some innovative and creative thinking at Stony Point High, they are on the top of the leader board in Central Texas and among the top five in the country in improving their attendance year to year, and getting kids engaged in online gaming and activities on campus."
L'amie says if Central Texas schools could increase a student's attendance by just three days, it would add 34 million dollars in revenue to the region.
