When you get a traffic citation, that ticket could be the beginning of another set of problems...and that possibility is what led a state lawmaker to file a bill.
State Representative Allen Fletcher says when you get a traffic ticket, your information becomes part of the public record. His bill would protect your personal information. “The moment that ticket gets filed and goes online, then these entities go out there and they acquire that information and those tickets have a lot of information about you.”
Fletcher says through his bill that information would be hidden from potential identity thieves. He says the bill would keep the information from being disclosed on open records requests about you or a member of your family.
