Weather fails to sour New Year's Eve celebrations

The weather is not putting damper on New Year's Eve celebrations.  Thousands are on the slick roads and many gathered at Auditorium Shores for the annual New Year's Eve fireworks show.  But officers have a warning for anyone heading out to party.  "It's not worth it to drink and drive," said APD Sr. Officer Vaneza Bremner.  APD launched a no-refusal campaign on Thursday night. Since it began 72 drivers have been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. The campaign ends Jan. 1 at 5 a.m.
