Governor Rick Perry has indicated he would like to give Texans a tax break, but he's not going to have the support of one Texas lawmaker.

State Representative Sylvester Turner says while it may seem like a nice thing to do, it's irresponsible with the serious under-funding going on in the state, "I can say, if he asks, we have these dollars out here and let's look at this tax break.  But the reality is, I can give you a few dollars, and I can have an education system that is falling apart, a transportation system that's falling apart, a mental health crisis and a water drought situation that's hurting farmers, ranchers, consumers and businesses."

Turner says it would be much more prudent to put the money towards something that will help the state in the long run.
