Capital Metro is gearing up for a bigger push for bicyclists in the next couple of years. They're buying more equipment to accommodate bikes.
The bus agency is planning to change most, if not all, of their current two-bike racks on buses to three-bike racks. The bus agency's Dottie Watkins says fitting three bikes in front of headlights is an issue, but a small one, "While there are some safety concerns with using the bicycle rack, there not so great that we don't think we could overcome them by using additional training."
Watkins says it should cost about 750 dollars per bus to change out the brackets on the buses. That will come as part of next year's budget request.
