A bike share program in downtown Austin should be starting by the beginning of June.

That's the time frame given by Annick Beaudet, the city's bicycle program coordinator. S he says we're only two weeks away from City Council's decision on whether to award a contract, "We are hoping to zero in on proposing a vendor to council for approval on March 7th is the current schedule."

After that, Beaudet says they will launch a public input campaign about where the rental kiosks need to go downtown and by June tenth, the whole bike sharing system should be running.
