Amplify Austin may have reached its goal, but the giving campaign isn’t over yet. Donations will continue to be accepted at amplifyatx.org until 7 p.m. Currently, the effort has raised more than $1.1 million and garnered donations from more than 9,700 people. Update 9:30 a.m.: Amplify Austin has reached its goal, raising — so far — $1.02 million. Earlier: Amplify Austin has raised more than $900,000 in the first 11 hours of a 24-hour campaign to generate $1 million for charity. The effort, led by I Live Here, I Give Here, kicked off last night at 7 p.m. By 9 p.m., donors had already contributed about $500,000, and giving remained steady throughout the night. As of 8:30 a.m., the effort has raised $921,000 for more than 300 Central Texas nonprofits. Hospice Austin has collected the most so far, generating nearly $90,000 in donations since the kickoff.
