Local state rep agrees with Supreme Court’s ruling on voting rights

Concerning the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on the Voting Rights Act, a Central Texas state lawmaker says Texas voters opposing the Voter ID Law should be careful what they wish for.

State Representative Tony Dale from Cedar Park says, when it comes to voting laws, the Obama Administration is trying keep Texas under its thumb.  He says that would have an immediate impact on local elections.  “The ten voting districts that we’re going to have for Austin City Council soon…if the Obama Administration prevails…will have to be approved by Washington, D.C. instead of by the voters here in Austin, and that’s just not appropriate in this day and age.”

Dale says any redistricting, from state maps to voting precincts, would also have to be approved by the feds in Washington.
