Poor academic performance in Texas is the direct result of State neglect. That's the argument more than 600 school districts are making in the State's finance Trial.
Lawyers for the school districts called on yet another school finance expert. Rutgers Professor Dr. Bruce Baker. His specialty is designing school finance policies based on diverse populations like English language learners, "I think the core features of the state's school funding system, that were really kind of adopted and embedded in policy over 20 years ago really don't match today's realities. They don't help kids reach the high college readiness stanadards."
The trial has wrapped up its 4th week it's expected to run through mid-January.
