A successful program at the University of Texas at Austin that helps college students deal with addiction and abuse is being expanded to every school in the UT system.

The program is called the Center for Students in Recovery or CSR and UT Associate Vice President of Student Affairs Chris Brownson says it exists to support students recovering from alcohol or drug abuse, "What this does is it creates a recovery community on campus that supports these students.  There's educational presentations, accountability for their recovery, they provide referrals, peer mentorship, 12 step program..."

Brownson says the UT Board of Regents has decided to give them one million dollars to lead the implementation of the program at the other 8 UT institutions.
