Revenues supporting Austin's bus system keep ticking upward and that means people around town are spending more money by each passing month.
Capital Metro revenues can be seen as a canary in the coal mine, for the Austin economy. 80-percent of their funding comes from one cent of the 8 cents everybody pays for each dollar spent. Capital Metro money expert Billy Hamilton says sales tax collections are up 22%. That's just over two million dollars and that, he says, is surprising.
Hamilton says looking back on November, the question is how did the Formula-One race help. He says it added about $600,000 in revenue.
