Arguments in school finance trail to include calls for efficiencies today

Making Texas public schools more efficient is the latest phase in the State School finance trial.

The efficiencies include a call for more charter schools, a voucher program was suggested as another cost cutting reform. David Thompson is one of the lawyers who represents the 600 school districts suing for underfunding. He says the schools themselves can't get much more efficient, "We believe schools have been working very pretty hard over the last number of years to do a lot these very things.  We've made class sizes larger, we've laid off a number of teachers..."  The School finance trial resumes later today at the Travis County Courthouse.
