People who use Ranch Road 620 in Round Rock will start noticing work crews between I-35 and the 45 toll road.

The road is being widened to a four-lane road with very wide shoulders and a raised median. Williamson County Commissioner Lisa Berkman tells KLBJ the project is for expansion and safety, "It's a safety improvement.  We looked over the last few years and there's been at least one major accident there a month.  And so, it's a very dangerous section.  It's got a lot of cars on it and there's no median."

Berkman says the road is dangerous, given that speed limit, 50 miles per hour. Williamson County is paying for the work, not the state. The road will remain open with lane restrictions.
