An official cause of the December fire at the International Residence Apartments is announced by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office today. Fire investigators have ruled it undetermined, saying there was just too much damage to the three completely destroyed buildings to narrow down the cause further than three possible scenarios: faulty wiring,lighting or an improperly discarded cigarette. They do say the fire started within an external wall in building 13, and have ruled out arson.

Many residents who lost everything are planning to file a lawsuit against International Residence management to void the liability waivers they say they were coerced into signing in order to get their deposits back.
