You can expect to see a boom in the number of Charter Schools if the latest school reform bill passes. State Senator Dan Patrick's bill would lift the cap on the number of charters allowed and it would make it easier for public schools to be turned into charters. The bill would establish a seven-member Authority to oversee the charter schools. According to Governor Perry, more than 100,000 kids are on charter school wait lists.
