Police arrested former UT defensive back Cedric Griffin early Saturday morning on charges of driving while intoxicated. Griffin’s preliminary blood alcohol level was .164, more than twice the legal limit. The police report indicates Griffin sped through an intersection on 7th street and then crossed over double yellow lines during the police pursuit. Griffin does have a prior arrest for DWI. In 2009 he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree driving while intoxicated in Minnesota. The San Antonio product played at Texas from 2002-2005. He has played in the NFL with the Vikings and Redskins, but is currently a free agent.
