A man is beaten in front of a downtown club during peak business hours and later dies from his injuries, but so far only one witness has come forward.

Brian Pentecost, 42, was found lying in front of club Suite 101 on West 5th Street. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about a week later, and now the APD is calling it a homicide. Sergeant Brian Miller says it happened right in front of the busy club, on a Friday night around midnight. He tells KLBJ, “Mr. Pentecost was standing in front of Suite 101 when he was approached by an unknown white male and assaulted. Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene."

Miller says so far only one person has come forward. He says there are very few HALO cameras west of Congress so they don’t have any footage, and there is no business surveillance either.

The suspect is described as a muscular white male, in his 20’s or 30’s, around 6’2”. Anyone with information is asked to call the department’s homicide tip line at 512-477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
