HOUSTON (AP) - A 10-story former downtown Houston hotel has been demolished to make way for new apartments.
A crowd was on hand Sunday to watch the implosion of what had been the Ben Milam Hotel. The structure was built in the 1920s.
City officials last month granted a permit to bring down the building and clear the way for new housing.
Developers plan a nearly 400-unit apartment complex.
