COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - A former Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service employee has been arrested and accused of misusing a Texas 4H Foundation checking account and credit cards.
A Texas A&M University Police Department statement Tuesday says Lorenza Rios Nunez of Navasota is charged with theft by a public servant and two counts of credit card abuse. Jail records show she's in Brazos County Detention Center in Bryan with bonds totaling $6,000. No attorney is listed for her.
The police statement says she was working for the Extension Service as a business coordinator supporting the 4H Foundation from October 2010 until her dismissal this past January.
Nunez turned herself in to A&M police Monday. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
