HOUSTON (AP) - Family and friends of Houston's top prosecutor, Harris County District Attorney Mike Anderson, are preparing to remember him.
A memorial service for Anderson is set for Friday afternoon at a Houston church.
Anderson died last week at his home after battling cancer. He was 57.
He had only taken office in January when he revealed in mid-May that he was being treated for an undisclosed type of cancer.
The Republican had a long career in law enforcement. He spent 17 years as a prosecutor in Harris County and 12 years as an elected state district judge.
The native of the Houston suburb of Pasadena is survived by his wife and two children.
