SAN ANTONIO -- An ex-Army sergeant was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison Friday, after she admitted to recording herself molesting a 3-year-old boy and sending the pornographic images to a former boyfriend. Kimberly Epperson was also sentenced to 10 years of federal supervision after her release from prison, according to Assistant United States Attorney Tracy Thompson.
Epperson's former boyfriend, ex-Army Sergeant Wade Allen Perkins, was given the maximum sentence of 30 years back in October. Both Epperson and Perkins were facing federal charges of child pornography.
Investigators with the FBI and Bexar County Sheriff's Office indicated some of the sexual acts took place while both soldiers were stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.
In court documents, Epperson indicated she had been pressured by Perkins into taking pictures and making videos of her performing sex acts on the boy.
