Political action committee attacks Stockman

A conservative political action committee has begun airing television ads attacking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Stockman.

The group called Texans for a Conservative Majority bought time on television stations in Houston, Beaumont and Port Arthur, the heart of Stockman's congressional district.

The ads criticize Stockman for so-called "shady transactions" including campaign finance reports that have prompted an investigation by the Federal Election Commission. The PAC supports incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn.

Neither Stockman nor his campaign staff responded to emails, telephone messages or social media posts requesting comment for this story. Stockman and his campaign staff, who primarily speaks with media outlets that share and espouse his views to communicate with the public, have not responded to any requests for comment from The Associated Press since December 9th, 2013.
