JACINTO CITY, Texas (AP) - A teenager blamed for wounding two Houston-area police officers has been captured after also being shot.
Police early Thursday shot 17-year-old Edgar Omar Cuellar at a home in Jacinto (juh-SIN'-toh) City. Authorities say Cuellar and two Jacinto City officers who were shot Wednesday night have injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The officers were shot while attempting to speak to Cuellar in a deadly conduct investigation about gunfire earlier this week.
Jacinto City police Chief Joe Ayala says officers tried to question Cuellar as relatives attempted to restrain him. The teen allegedly shot a male and a female officer before fleeing.
Houston police assisted in the search and a spokesman says Cuellar was located at another Jacinto City residence and shot by officers.
Ayala didn't immediately release more details Thursday.
