On Sunday night, the debate continued on Twitter, where the city’s top police officer sparred with users over the need for increased gun control.

It certainly wasn’t the first time Acevedo has engaged with the Twitter population and discussed why he thinks new gun restrictions are necessary. But some of his comments drew criticism on a conservative website that aggregates tweets.
The conversation seems to have started when the chief replied to a Twitter user who asked how many criminals will submit to a background check.
“They don’t have to they are buying firearms at gun shows & from straw purchasers,” Acevedo said.
According to Twitchy, Acevedo eventually replied to one user — and later deleted the tweet — saying, “I love that fact that I have pushed the button of ...

IRS allegedly targeted Fox News Personalities, too?

City produced 'Ride Safe' video

Dallas City Council seat loserSheridan leaves reporter VILE voicemail

The National Transportation Safety Board said states should shrink the standard from the current .08 blood alcohol content to .05 as part of a series of recommendations aimed at reducing alcohol-related highway deaths.
More than 100 countries have adopted the .05 alcohol content standard or lower, according to a report by the board's staff. In Europe, the share of traffic deaths attributable to drunken driving was reduced by more than half within 10 years after the standard was dropped.
A woman weighing less than 120 pounds can reach .05 after just one drink, studies show. A man weighing up to 160 pounds reaches .05 after two drinks.

Cliff Kluge, a pilot, and his wife Arlene of Ringgold, Ga., said they purchased several old boxes of papers and letters at an estate sale around four years ago for about $100. In the box of letters, the couple stumbled upon a 1943 recipe with references to one of the most popular soft drinks in the world today.
“When I saw this I just thought it was interesting, so I folded it up, stuck it in my purse and carried it around for a couple of weeks showing my friends,” Arlene Kluge, a small business owner, told ABC News. Taking no chances, the couple eventually put the recipe in a safety deposit box. After thinking about it for a while, they ...

Angelina Jolie Reveals She Had Double Mastectomy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Angelina Jolie says that she has had a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carried a gene that made it extremely likely she would get breast cancer. On a broader scale, the new engines could well be viewed as emblematic of the improving financial health of Amtrak, which has long been dependent on subsidies from an often reluctant Congress.
More than 31 million passengers rode Amtrak in the 2012 fiscal year, generating a record $2.02 billion in ticket revenue. Amtrak says it will be able to pay back a $466 million federal loan for the locomotives over 25 years using net profits from the Northeast Corridor line, where ridership hit a record high last year for the ninth time in 10 years.
