Blaming new law, Austin abortion clinic closes

Whole Woman’s Health has closed its Austin abortion clinic, blaming tougher new regulations enacted by the Legislature last year.

The company allowed the North Austin clinic’s license to expire at the end of June and closed the facility Thursday when its lease expired, said Amy Hagstrom Miller, chief executive of Whole Woman’s Health.
