Israel Vows Revenge for Teenagers' Deaths
Israel said it found the bodies of three teenagers in the West Bank whose disappearance 2½ weeks ago triggered one of the biggest army crackdowns in the Palestinian territory in years.
The discovery of the youths, who appeared to have been abducted while hitchhiking home from school, prompted an outpouring of condolences, as well as notes of caution from the international community urging Israeli restraint. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to exact revenge on the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
"We found three bodies this evening, and all the signs indicate these are bodies of the three kidnapped teenagers,'' he said Monday. "They were kidnapped and murdered in cold blood by human animals….Hamas is responsible and Hamas will pay.''
