Tax collectors, mailmen and farmers among top careers being displaced by technology

As technology continues to advance, more and more jobs that once had a huge demand are quickly becoming obsolete.

According to a new CareerCast.com list, mail carriers, farmers and newspaper reporters are some of the top ten most endangered jobs of 2014, each of them a 'casualty of a tech-based job market'.

For newspaper reporters, who face a projected decline in hires of 13per cent by 2022, the main cause is the fact that most people are now turning to the internet to read the news.

 
 

 

'Declining subscription and dwindling advertising sales have negatively impacted the hiring power of some newspapers, while others have ceased operations altogether,' reads the study, which notes that the average income of a newspaper reporter is $37,
