US stocks are little changed in early trading
NEW YORK (AP) — The stock market is little changed in early trading as investors wait to hear the latest news from the Federal Reserve.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 29 points, or 0.2 percent, to 16,161 in the first few minutes of trading Wednesday.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell half a point to 1,840 and the Nasdaq composite fell 10 points, or 0.2 percent, to 4,262.
Netflix fell 1 percent. The company is reportedly in a dispute with Verizon and other telecommunications companies over the cost of carrying Netflix's programming through their networks.
Later Wednesday the Federal Reserve will release the minutes from its most recent policy meeting.
Carlyle Group, a giant private equity company, rose 5 percent after reporting earnings that easily topped analysts' estimates.
