2 men injured in Seguin steel mill fire
Two Central Texas steel mill workers have been hospitalized with serious burns after a container carrying 100 tons of molten metal collapsed.
The Seguin Gazette-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/1xVktnJ ) the men were working in a melting room at CMC Steel Texas on Sunday evening. The fire chief says a ladle carrying molten steel fell two or three stories and spilled the liquid, which started a fire.
It's unclear what caused the accident.
City officials say 60-80 percent of one man's body was burned in the fire. He's in critical condition.
The other suffered burns to his hands. His condition is unknown. They were airlifted to a San Antonio hospital for treatment.
This is the second fire at the mill in less than two months. Fire departments extinguished a scrap-metal fire in June.
