Austin Homicide detectives have arrested Julian Medrano, 17 years of age for the murder of Dunieski Castillo Leyva. Leyva and two other companions responded to a sexually oriented ad on the Back Page website. Leyva and his companions drove to an apartment located at 2501 Anken Dr. During the transaction, an argument began when services were not received. When Leyva and his companions requested their money be returned a violent argument ensued. Leyva and his companions fled the apartment. Leyva ran to his truck and got into the driver’s seat. He started the truck and began to back out. Medrano who was associated with the apartment ran to the front of Leyva’s truck and fired one round into the vehicle. The bullet struck Leyva killing him. The truck still in gear rolled back striking several vehicles before coming to a stop.
Additional charges against others involved are expected as detectives continue to investigate.
