Austin Doctor says technology could have negative effect on kids

Psychologist says there are signs technology is having a negative effect on society, especially on children. No one can argue how computers and cell phones have changed our lives for the better. But Dr. Kevin Stark, director of psychology services at Dell Children's Medical Center, and an educational psychology professor at UT, says regarding kids, there's also growing concern about the downside, "If they spend too much time playing the games and communicating digitally rather than in person, it does have the potential to have an adverse impact on their social skills development." Dr. Stark says whether they're texting, sending e-mails or tracking others on social media, many kids are spending less time interacting with others...in person.
