The City of Ausitn Gets Another Small Sales Tax Payment

The most recent monthly data shows Austin’s sales tax revenues down about one-half of one percent from the same month one year ago. But overall this year, total sales tax collections are still up.

But city budget officer greg canally says that while revenues are up three point eight percent, they had predicted a seven and a half percent increase when putting together this year’s budget, so they’re already looking for ways to save money.
