After a week in the hospital after a head on collision with a van, Bicyclist Justin Richard Shapiro, 33, died as a result of his injuries early Friday morning, sept. 29th.

Police reports say Shapiro exited a private driveway in the 600 block of West 5th street at 2:28 am last Friday, and started riding west bound (the wrong way on the one way street) and was struck by a blue 2006 Dodge Caravan going east bound.  Austin Travis County EMS took him to Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas.
