The Supreme Court may have sided with the states, but economists aren't expecting gambling to be legal in Texas anytime soon.

President and CEO of the Perryman Group, Ray Perryman, says when the Texas Legislature reconvenes in January, the Supreme Court's ruling won't change many hearts or minds at the Capitol, which he thinks is a shame because it would pad the budget.

Perryman says gambling is pretty much the only tax that you'd see people actually lining up to pay.  That SCOTUS ruling this week shot down a ban on nationwide sports betting.
