Former Williams Shelter Director Pleads Guilty to Theft

Dr. Dana Boehm pleaded guilty to at the Williamson County Justice Center today to stealing no less than $55,000 from a former business partner.

Dr. Boehm served as the interim director for the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter last year. District Attorney John Bradley says Dr. Boehm admitted to stealing the funds from Dr. Holmstrom and the Hutto Veterinary Clinic.

According to Dr. Boehm’s resume, she was part of the clinic’s team just prior to working for the county.

Boehm was arrested last summer just as her interim position with the county was to end. Bradley says there is no evidence Dr. Boehm stole funds from the county.

As part of the agreement, she paid over $55,000 in restitution to Dr. Holmstrom. She was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay a fine of $4,000. She also will have to write a letter of apology to Dr. Holmstrom. Boehm, using a company credit card and checks, stole the money from the business over several months.

A copy of the order placing her on probation will be sent to the Texas Veterinary Board.
