Georgetown firefighters on-duty in Galveston

Four Georgetown firefighters are in Galveston for the next week, to assist in fire-fighting and rescue duties on the hurricane-ravaged island. The firefighters brought food, water, tents and other supplies needed to be self-sufficient while in Galveston. Upon arrival, they found the station does have electricity from a generator, but no running water. The firefighters participating are Roland Azua, Keith Hehmann, Lt. Russell Lawhorn and Apparatus Operator Travis Vinton. The four will be in Galveston until next Friday. The request for assistance came from the state Division of Emergency Management.
