The Georgetown school district has adopted its new budget for next year, which includes a 2-percent increase for current employees. Trustee Ben Stewart voted against the budget, in part because he wants teachers to be rewarded for their work beyond just an across-the-board pay raise.
The total budget is a little more than $156-million, with $18-million being sent to the state for recapture.
