The Texas Supreme Court is granting more rights to grandparents, who are in charge of their grandchildren for more than a six month period.  Attorney Thomas Michel argued for the grandparents, saying if a grandparent makes all the decisions in a six month period they should have more of a say and should have the right to sue for custody.

The high court’s split decision means that grandparents do have rights if they have custody for more than six months and can even seek full custody from the courts.
