Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez is preparing to release two potentially violent sexual predators back onto Travis County streets.

Hugo Javier Gallardo-Gonzalez, a 31-year-old illegal immigrant, is charged with sexual assault of a child.  He's accused of sexually abusing his girlfriend's young daughter on multiple occasions for more than a year.  He was booked into the Travis County Jail on Sunday, but has made bail and will be released once he is given a GPS tracker.

Another illegal immigrant, Lioncio Aviles, is getting ready to hit the streets again after he was arrested for beating up his girlfriend outside of a bar.  But Austin police had reportedly been searching for Aviles since 2014 for the repeated sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl.

Hernandez has said she'll only honor ICE detainers if the person is charged with murder, aggravated sexual assault, or human trafficking.  Because neither man meets that specific criteria, Hernandez has refused to assist the feds.

Hernandez's office is refusing to comment.
