A man is in Travis County jail after trying to pass drugs through Austin Airport's security checkpoint. Police records say 44-year-old John Alvey had a bulge in his sock spotted by a body scanner, which turned out to be a bag of marijuana. While being booked into jail, deputies found a small bag of methamphetamine in his pocket. Alvey faces possession charges.
