More foster care troubles for Texas

The company hired to help in the State's foster care redesign has backed out of its contract. Providence Service Corp. was the company that oversaw the placement of the two foster kids who drowned in Lake Georgetown. Department of Family and Protective Services Commissioner John Specia says their decision to quit has nothing to do with the drownings. He says,"Contract is a 5-year contract but it has a 30-day clause in it where either they or us can terminate voluntairyy. So they gave us that notice, they told us they wree having issues and that they were losing money." Specia says the contract provided services to 1,100 foster children in West Texas. He says the State will take over the direct management of foster care services there.
