'Open Carry Texas' Offers Assistance to LGBT Community

As the LGBT community continues to reel from the slaughter of 50 people in Orlando, one pro-gun group is offering its services.  Open Carry Texas says no one should feel unsafe, and therefore is willing to act as an armed chaperone.

"It's a standing offer that's open for us to show up to events openly armed, and we just want to act as a deterrent to anyone who may want to do harm," says Open Carry Texas president CJ Grisham.

It's not an armed security service, nor will the group be acting in any vigilante fashion.

"We're not looking for confrontation.  What we're trying to do is prevent those confrontations.  Our sole purpose is to prevent violence, not create it," Grisham says.

The offer stands for any event, rally, or large outing in which people within the LGBT community need or want some peace of mind.

Open Carry Texas strongly encourages anyone who may be living in fear to get trained, get licensed, and carry a gun for personal protection.
