Open Government 'lightning talks' promote transparency

Austin wants to prove it's the most transparent city in America now.

Today as part of the Open Government Initiative, the city will have a presentation at the Central Library. The city's Sabine Romero says they'll spotlight the four main areas of open government: transparency, accountability, civic participation and technology. "We're excited! Mayor Pro Tem Tovo is opening the event. We're going to have a dozen 'lightning talks', and it'll be a lot of fun."

Those talks will be this afternoon from 3-6 at the Central Library. It's free and open to the public.
