A Ride Austin driver is accused a sexually assaulting a passenger after giving her a ride home.

40-year-old Osmani Lamonta Diaz has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman while driving for Ride Austin.  The company says Lamonta Diaz passed all background checks and didn't have a history of criminal activity before this incident.

Austin Police Sergeant Martina Saint Louis said if she were to call for a ride by herself, she would have to trust that the driver was going to take her where she wanted to go safely, but that doesn't always happen. "It goes back to the individual, the suspect, that decides to commit that crime."
