State taking education cash

Now is the time of year when so-called wealthy school districts, like AISD, surrender a lot of property tax money to the state to equalize the school funding system.  Director of the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economic and Public Policy, Lori Taylor, says the problem is the system used to do that is way out of date, and some of these wealthy districts should keep a lot more money.

It’s gotten so bad here that AISD can no longer meet its own needs because of the money they are sending to the state.
